About Dr Hadi Moattar
Dr Hadi Moattar is a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with particular interests in inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, coeliac disease, eosinophilic oesophagitis and luminal endoscopy. His procedural work includes upper endoscopy, colonoscopy and polypectomy, with Narrow Band Imaging used during colonoscopy to assist in identifying subtle lesions.
He completed his medical degree with distinction at Tehran University in 2004 and later trained in Gastroenterology and Hepatology across several Queensland hospitals, including Mater Adult Hospital, The Prince Charles Hospital, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Townsville Hospital. He completed his specialist fellowship in 2016 before undertaking further subspecialty training in inflammatory bowel disease at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth.
From 2018 to 2022, Dr Moattar worked as a staff Gastroenterologist at Gold Coast University Hospital before moving into full-time private practice. His professional work also includes quality assurance projects, clinical audits and research presented at national and international meetings.
