Dr Brent Skippen

Dr Brent Skippen is a highly qualified Ophthalmologist and Oculoplastic Surgeon who provides comprehensive medical and surgical eye care. With a clinical practice encompassing the full spectrum of general ophthalmology, Dr Skippen is dedicated to delivering modern, evidence-based treatments with a strong focus on patient comfort, communication, and long-term eye health. His clinical expertise spans both adult and paediatric eye care, addressing a wide range of conditions from cataracts and glaucoma to complex eyelid, lacrimal, and orbital diseases.

Dr Skippen completed his Bachelor of Medical Science and graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours from the University of Sydney in 2004. He also holds a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Following his medical degree, he undertook general ophthalmology training and subsequently completed a rigorous Clinical Fellowship in Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery in Cardiff, United Kingdom. To further refine his skills, he completed advanced Clinical Fellowship training in reconstructive and cosmetic eyelid, facial, and orbital surgery in Genoa and Milan, Italy. Dr Skippen is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Skippen is actively involved in medical education and clinical research. He serves as a Conjoint Associate Professor, teaching and mentoring the next generation of medical students and registrars. He is also the Head of Anatomy and an Examiner for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. As a respected researcher, he has published numerous articles in international scientific journals and textbooks, and regularly presents his findings at global conferences. He also serves as a peer reviewer for prestigious international journals in his field.
