Dr Anil Koshy

Dr Anil Koshy is a highly qualified General Surgeon and Colorectal Surgeon who is dedicated to providing patients with advanced, compassionate surgical care. With a focus on utilising the latest safe and minimally invasive techniques, he ensures that individuals receive tailored treatment pathways designed to optimise their recovery and long-term health outcomes. Dr Koshy is particularly passionate about keyhole colorectal surgery and endoscopic procedures, helping patients achieve excellent clinical results with reduced discomfort and shorter recovery times.

Dr Koshy completed his medical degree (MBBS) and went on to obtain a Master of Surgery (MS Research) from the University of Sydney. He undertook extensive general surgical training at a major tertiary referral hospital in Sydney, followed by a highly competitive sub-specialist training programme through the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ). He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and holds professional memberships with the CSSANZ and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS). Additionally, he is fully accredited by the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) for gastroscopy and colonoscopy.

In his clinical practice, Dr Koshy offers comprehensive care for a wide range of general surgical and colorectal conditions, including bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and hernias. He is a pioneer in robotic colorectal surgery, utilising state-of-the-art robotic systems to perform highly precise procedures such as rectopexy and low rectal cancer resections. Beyond his clinical work, Dr Koshy is actively involved in medical education, serving as an Examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and teaching the next generation of medical professionals.
