Dr Martin McLeod

Dr Martin McLeod is a specialist General and Bariatric Surgeon and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) dedicated to comprehensive weight management and general surgery.

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from the University of Newcastle (2002), a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the Australian National University (2007), and a Master of Surgery from the University of Sydney (2014). After obtaining his FRACS fellowship in 2017 in General Surgery, he completed post-fellowship sub-specialty training in weight loss surgery in Western Australia at one of Australia's busiest bariatric (weight loss) centres. He is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA Reg. No. MED0001200602).

Dr McLeod's practice focuses on surgical and non-surgical weight-loss management, including laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, one-anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB), intragastric balloon placement, and complex revisional bariatric surgery. He also performs general surgical procedures such as hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, skin cancer surgery, gastroscopy, and colonoscopy. 

He consults at Sea Change Weight Loss Clinic and operates privately at Lingard Private Hospital. In addition to this, he is a VMO at John Hunter Hospital where he provides emergency general surgical care to patients of the Hunter and beyond.
