Mr Andrew Lowe

Mr Andrew William Lowe is a general surgeon specialising in upper gastrointestinal, biliary, and pancreatic surgery. Mr Lowe pursued his medical education at the University of Melbourne Medical School and the Austin Hospital, where he completed his surgical fellowship in 1993. He undertook further training in the United Kingdom in upper gastrointestinal surgery before he returned to Australia to settle in Ballarat in 1998.

Mr Lowe has developed a distinguished career as a general surgeon with a focus on minimally invasive procedures, including laparoscopic cholecystectomy and fundoplication for anti-reflux treatment. He is also an accredited specialist in ERCP, providing advanced endoscopic care for bile duct and pancreatic conditions. In addition to his clinical work, he contributes to thoracic surgery services in Ballarat and is a skilled endoscopist, offering gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and bronchoscopy.

Deeply committed to his community, he coordinates the Ballarat Health Services Surgical Audit Program, serves on the Clinical Review Panel, and educates future doctors through the Rural Clinical School of the University of Melbourne.
