Mr Mohamed Atalla

Mr Mohamed (Mo) Atalla is a surgeon specialising in general and bariatric surgery, with over 18 years of experience in the field. After completing his initial medical education and specialist surgical training in Melbourne through the Royal College of Surgeons, he pursued highly specialised international training. He was selected for a post-fellowship position in Auckland, New Zealand, where he underwent advanced training in bariatric surgery under the guidance of renowned bariatric surgeon, Mr Michael Booth.

Beyond his clinical practice, Mr Atalla is a dedicated academic and researcher, serving as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Melbourne. He has contributed significantly to surgical literature through multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and is a credentialed endoscopist under the GESA Conjoint Committee.
