Dr Alexander Poon

Dr Alexander Poon is a highly qualified Ophthalmologist and Eye Surgeon who specialises in anterior segment surgery and ocular surface disease. With a patient-centred approach, he provides comprehensive care for a wide range of eye conditions, focusing on restoring and maintaining optimal vision. His clinical expertise encompasses advanced cataract surgery, including both laser-assisted cataract surgery and traditional phacoemulsification, as well as corneal transplantation and laser refractive surgery. He is also dedicated to treating complex ocular surface disorders, such as keratoconus, corneal infections, and ocular surface malignancies.

Dr Poon completed his medical degree at the University of Melbourne Medical School, graduating in 1990. Following his initial medical studies, he undertook specialist training in general ophthalmology at a leading eye and ear hospital in Melbourne. To further refine his skills, he completed a year as a Senior Registrar at a major teaching hospital in Sydney, followed by prestigious subspecialty fellowship training in anterior segment surgery and ocular surface disease at a world-renowned eye hospital in London.
