Dr Aaron Yeung

Dr Aaron Yeung is a highly skilled and dedicated Ophthalmologist based in Melbourne, Australia. He provides comprehensive care for a wide range of general and complex eye conditions, with a particular focus on medical retinal diseases, cataracts, glaucoma, and uveitis. Known for his reassuring and patient-centred approach, Dr Yeung is committed to delivering the highest standard of ophthalmic care, ensuring his patients feel supported and well-informed throughout their treatment journey.

Dr Yeung obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the National University of Ireland, Cork, qualifying in 2000. He completed his specialist training in Ophthalmology across several prominent institutions in Ireland and the United Kingdom, including hospitals in Limerick, Cork, Birmingham, and Nottingham. Driven by a passion for clinical research, he was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in ocular stem cells from the University of Nottingham in 2012, where he also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education. To further refine his expertise, Dr Yeung undertook prestigious sub-specialty fellowship training in medical retinal conditions and uveitis at a leading eye hospital in Sydney, followed by fellowships in ocular oncology and pathology at a renowned eye centre in the United States and a specialist ocular oncology service in the United Kingdom.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Yeung is actively involved in research and medical education. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed research papers, serves as a Journal Reviewer for several respected international ophthalmology publications, and is frequently invited to speak at global medical conferences. He is also deeply passionate about training the next generation of Ophthalmologists, contributing his time to teaching within local ophthalmic training programmes. Dr Yeung is a Fellow of both the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth) in the United Kingdom and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO).
