GRIP: Hand, Wrist & Reconstructive Surgery is a specialist private practice dedicated to the diagnosis and management of hand, wrist and forearm conditions in both adult and paediatric patients. Based within Eastwood Private Hospital, the practice offers consultations, day surgery and inpatient care in a single location, with seamless access to on-site radiology, pathology and rehabilitation services.
The clinic operates within a multidisciplinary model, integrating subspecialist surgical care with dedicated hand therapy to support both conservative treatment and postoperative recovery.
The practice is led by Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons Dr Paul van Minnen, Dr Nicholas Smith and Dr Kyra Sierakowski. All surgeons have completed advanced fellowship training in hand and wrist surgery endorsed by the Australian Hand Surgery Society. They practise exclusively in this field. Their work spans both routine and complex cases, with a consistent focus on restoring function, mobility and quality of life.
GRIP manages a broad spectrum of upper limb conditions, including carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren’s disease, fractures, ganglion cysts, tendon injuries, nerve compression syndromes, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, trigger finger, TFCC injuries and congenital hand differences.
Where appropriate, treatment emphasises non-surgical care, including splinting, hand therapy, injections and structured rehabilitation programmes, alongside tailored surgical intervention.
Surgical services include wrist arthroscopy, tendon and nerve reconstruction, joint replacement, carpal tunnel release, partial and total wrist fusion, distal radioulnar joint surgery, scar revision, microvascular soft tissue reconstruction and revision hand surgery.
Through its integrated model and exclusive subspecialist focus, GRIP provides comprehensive hand and wrist care from initial assessment through to recovery and long-term management.
This practice offers a range of facilities and services.

Clinic is in a great central location with easy parking, modern offices and very friendly staff.
Rather amazingly the surgery completely fixed my thumb, which was stuck in the straight position. The fix was immediate and recovery was quick. No pain whatsoever. I’m ever so impressed and grateful to all at GRIP.
I would recommend Grip hand and wrist to anyone requiring specialist surgery, exceeded my expectations.
Beautiful facilities, excellent information and the surgeon's manner and skill was of the highest quality. Follow up care was very good indeed.
Beautiful hospital. Being forgotten in the holding bay and waiting nearly 2 hours for the surgery was a bit annoying. I was supposed to have an ECG before the op but that was forgotten also.
Great hospital, friendly and caring staff. The whole procedure was just so efficient, from start to finish. Would definitely recommend.
Not having had any surgery before I was pleasantly surprised about how the experience went from start to finish.
Excellent service , can’t fault my experience with Grip surgery.
Therapists and reception girls were considerate and attentive.
