Ms Corlia Van Rooyen

Corlia van Rooyen is a Certified Hand Therapist with over 20 years of international experience in upper limb rehabilitation and hand therapy.

She is certified by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission and holds a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, completed in 1999. She also completed specialist hand therapy training in New Zealand through the New Zealand Association of Hand Therapists pathway.

Her clinical career spans multiple countries, including New Zealand and Australia, where she has worked extensively in specialist hand therapy services.

She has held roles such as Co-Director at Grip Hand Therapy (since 2021), as well as senior physiotherapist and hand therapist positions at SA Hand Therapy in Adelaide and Rototuna Physiotherapy Clinic in New Zealand.

Her expertise focuses on rehabilitation of hand, wrist, and upper limb conditions following injury, surgery, or chronic conditions. She works closely with surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to support recovery of function, reduce pain, and improve long-term hand performance.

Her approach combines advanced clinical knowledge with a strong focus on functional recovery and patient-centred rehabilitation planning.
