Dr Yee Chiu

Dr Yee Chiu is a dedicated Consultant Rheumatologist who provides comprehensive care for patients managing a wide spectrum of rheumatic and musculoskeletal conditions. With extensive expertise in diagnosing and managing complex autoimmune disorders, inflammatory arthritis, and chronic pain, Dr Chiu offers patient-focused care tailored to individual clinical needs. He maintains a key interest in supporting young adults as they transition from paediatric to adult rheumatological services, ensuring continuity of care and empathetic medical guidance throughout their treatment journey.

Dr Chiu earned his primary medical qualifications (MBChB) from the University of Sheffield in 1993. He subsequently attained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 1999. Demonstrating a strong commitment to clinical research and academic medicine, Dr Chiu completed a research fellowship and was awarded a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in 2000, focusing on chronic pain and epidemiological factors. Following the completion of his specialist higher medical training, he served as a Clinical Lecturer and a Consultant Rheumatologist, further refining his clinical expertise in complex rheumatological conditions.

In clinical practice, Dr Chiu utilises advanced diagnostic techniques, including musculoskeletal ultrasound, to accurately assess joint health and inform personalised treatment plans. His specific areas of clinical interest encompass connective tissue diseases, inflammatory arthritis, Behçet's disease, and specialised pain management strategies.
