Dr. William Lo

Dr. William Lo is a highly accomplished Consultant Neurosurgeon who specialises in Paediatric Neurosurgery. He provides comprehensive surgical care for complex neurological conditions affecting infants, children, and young adults. Serving as a Surgical Lead for specialised paediatric epilepsy surgery, Dr. Lo dedicates his clinical practice to improving patient outcomes through advanced surgical techniques, evidence-based treatment plans, and compassionate, child-centred care.

His main areas of clinical focus encompass surgical intervention for childhood brain tumours, medically refractory epilepsy, and neuroendoscopic procedures. Dr. Lo has extensive expertise in managing conditions that affect eloquent brain regions responsible for vital speech, motor, and sensory functions. His clinical practice also encompasses the diagnosis and management of hydrocephalus, Chiari malformations, spinal dysraphism, neural tube defects, craniofacial anomalies, and central nervous system trauma. Additionally, Dr. Lo regularly utilises intraoperative ultrasound guidance to optimise precision and safety during delicate cranial and spinal operations.

Dr. Lo earned his medical degree and a degree in Neuroscience from St John's College, University of Cambridge, qualifying in 2005. He earned Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Neurosurgery as well as Fellowship of the European Board of Neurological Surgery, receiving the prestigious Braakman Prize for outstanding examination performance in 2016. Academically active, he serves as a Surgical Tutor for the Royal College of Surgeons, co-chairs the British Paediatric Neurosurgery Group Scientific Committee, and is an active committee member of the International Society of Paediatric Neurosurgery.
