Following the late cancellation of Mum's NHS cataract surgery, we were unsure whether 'going private' was the right decision. However, from our initial contact with Nikki at Cotswold Cataract, we felt reassured that we were making the right choice. We were acting on behalf of our mother, who has Alzheimer's disease, Nikki was extremely helpful, answering all our questions promptly and putting our minds at ease. Mr Dean also took the time to call us personally to discuss Mum's needs and how best to support her throughout the process. One of our biggest concerns was how Mum would cope with the operation because of her memory difficulties. The team arranged for a nurse to stay with her and hold her hand during the procedure, this was very reassuring to us. All the staff at Tetbury were amazing. They were patient, kind and understanding, speaking to Mum appropriately and repeating information without any sign of frustration. The results of the cataract operation have been fantastic. Mum went into surgery with no sight in her right eye and can now see again. Although her vision remains a little hazy as she recovers, the improvement has been remarkable. The care Mum received has been exceptional, and we would not hesitate to return when her left eye requires treatment. We are grateful to everyone involved and would highly recommend Cotswold Cataract to others.
