Dr Wendy Adams

Dr Wendy Adams is a highly accomplished Consultant Ophthalmologist who specialises in diagnosing and treating a wide range of eye conditions. With a dedicated focus on advanced medical and surgical eye care, she serves as a Clinical Lead for Neuro-ophthalmology. In this specialised role, Dr Adams focuses on the complex relationship between the brain, nerves, and visual pathways, helping patients who experience vision issues, double vision, or eye movement disorders caused by neurological conditions.

In addition to her leadership in neuro-ophthalmology, Dr Adams has extensive expertise in paediatric ophthalmology, strabismus (squints), and ocular motility. Her broad clinical interests also encompass the management of glaucoma, corneal and external eye diseases, and anterior uveitis. She is highly skilled in performing essential ophthalmic procedures, including cataract surgery (phacoemulsification), laser treatments such as YAG capsulotomy, and viscogonioplasty for narrow-angle glaucoma. Her patient-centred approach ensures that individuals receive tailored, reassuring, and high-quality care for both routine and complex ophthalmic concerns.

Dr Adams completed her medical education at the University of Glasgow, qualifying with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) in 1994. Committed to maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence, she has pursued rigorous postgraduate training and holds prestigious professional qualifications.
