Mr Vijaya Kumar Balakrishnan

Mr Vijaya Kumar Balakrishnan is an experienced Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with more than 20 years of NHS and private practice. He sees patients at River Hospital in Sawbridgeworth, providing comprehensive care across a broad range of women's health conditions with a focus on delivering personalised, evidence-based treatment.

Mr Balakrishnan graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Calicut in 1995 before completing a Doctor of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Goa University in 2002. He undertook specialist training in Glasgow, achieving specialist status in 2016 and is both a Member and Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, reflecting his commitment to maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice.

Mr Balakrishnan has particular expertise in the management of benign gynaecological conditions, urogynaecology, and menopause care. He is highly skilled in both conservative and surgical treatment options, helping patients make informed decisions based on their individual needs and circumstances.
