Ms. Vardhini Vijay is a highly experienced Consultant General Surgeon based in Hertfordshire, specialising in abdominal surgery, including cholecystectomies, adhesiolysis, hernias and colonoscopy. She graduated from Christian Medical College, Vellore, India, in 1990 and completed her post-graduation in surgery at Tata Memorial Hospital, Bombay, in 1993.
Ms. Vijay moved to the UK in 1995, where she completed her entire basic and specialist surgical training in the North Thames East region. During her training, she gained specialist laparoscopic and colorectal skills as a senior registrar at Colchester General and Chase Farm Hospitals.
Since being appointed as a Consultant Surgeon at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow, in 2009, Ms. Vijay has furthered her expertise with a certification in surgical leadership from Harvard University. Over the years, she has taken on various leadership roles, including Clinical Lead for Colorectal Cancer, Clinical Lead for Colorectal and General Surgery, and Clinical Director for Surgery, Urology, and Gastroenterology. Currently, she serves as the College Tutor for Surgery at Princess Alexandra Hospital and Clinical Lead for Cancer for West Essex.
