Dr Trung Nguyen

Dr Trung Nguyen is a Consultant Paediatric Oncologist specialising in the comprehensive care and treatment of children and young people diagnosed with complex, rare, or advanced forms of cancer. Dedicated to delivering compassionate and evidence-based medicine, Dr Nguyen works closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure each young patient receives personalised care tailored to their unique needs and diagnosis.

In his clinical practice, Dr Nguyen focuses on a broad range of paediatric solid tumours and rare oncological conditions. His primary clinical interests include the management of sarcoma, Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH), histiocytic disorders, and rare childhood cancers. He also possesses expertise in bone marrow transplantation as well as long-term follow-up care for paediatric cancer survivors, helping families navigate the late effects of therapy and supporting ongoing health into adulthood.

Dr Nguyen completed his primary medical training with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, and subsequently earned a Master of Medical Science with Honours as well as a Master of Studies from the University of Oxford. He completed specialist training in general paediatrics and paediatric oncology in Australia before undertaking advanced sub-specialist fellowships in paediatric haematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplantation across leading medical institutions in London. He qualified as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2020. Dr Nguyen maintains active memberships in several international study groups for sarcoma and histiocytic disorders, and serves as co-chair of a national advisory panel for histiocytosis.

Alongside his clinical responsibilities, Dr Nguyen contributes to medical advancement through research and education. He serves as a University Lecturer and acts as an investigator for clinical trials examining novel therapeutic options for young cancer patients.
