About Dr Daniel Krell
Dr Daniel Krell is a Consultant Oncologist, specialising in colon, upper GI, lower GI and hepatobiliary cancers and neuroendocrine tumours.
He has expertise in the use of chemotherapy, targeted therapy and immunotherapy. Dr Krell is also the clinical lead for the management of patients with cancer of unknown primary. He is a member of the multidisciplinary team for gastro-oesophageal and hepatobiliary cancer at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. He also holds the position of Clinical Lead for Neuroendocrine Tumour Oncology at The Royal Free Hospital.
Dr Krell completed his medical degree at the University of Leeds in 2003. He later completed his specialist training in oncology at University College London and the Royal Free Hospital. He also holds a DPhil in Clinical Medicine gained from the University of Oxford's Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics, funded by Cancer Research UK and HCA.
Dr Krell remains actively involved in clinical research and trials designed to find new cancer therapies for hepatobiliary, gastrointestinal and neuroendocrine tumours. He has published papers in peer-reviewed journals and has presented his work at both national and international conferences and meetings.

Dan and his entire team have been amazing to myself and my husband during his battle with cancer since August 2025 – there’s really no words to fully express our gratitude. When cancer comes into your life it brings not only pain and suffering but stress and worry of the unknown future. Dan’s manner is calm, relaxed and compassionate. He makes you feel like things are really are OK and there will be a positive outcome even when you are freaking out honestly, which we did abit. Obviously, his medical knowledge is outstanding, but he always explains things fully in a way we can understand and relate. His support team of Hannah, Cydnie and Keri made us feel so looked after, they reply to any email or phone call promptly and always follow-up. They made us feel seen as people not just patients. We hope no one will ever need to face a fight with cancer but if you have Dan in your corner, you will beat it!!!
My visit was arranged as a part of my ongoing chemotherapy treatment. Dr Krell went through the type of chemo I’m having, and explained clearly possible side effects, and exactly why we are going down this route of treatment. He answered all of my questions clearly.
DR KRELL WAS VERY KIND AND EXPLAINED EVERYTHING SO I COULD UNDERSTAND.
Dr Krell is always on time and very professional. He takes the time to explain treatments, tests and results using clear language.
