About Mr Thomas Barreto
Mr Thomas Barreto is an osteopath at Osteopath West, where he provides hands-on treatment for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. Before training as an osteopath, he studied medicine for two years in the Netherlands, driven by his interest in the human body and therapeutic approaches to managing pathology. He later returned to London to pursue a more manual, patient-centred healthcare profession and subsequently completed the four-year Master of Osteopathy degree at the University College of Osteopathy.
During his training, Mr Barreto completed clinical placements in specialised HIV, geriatric and women’s health clinics, which strengthened his understanding of musculoskeletal conditions across varied patient groups. He also gained a diploma in sports massage, which he has been practising for two years, adding further depth to his therapeutic techniques.
He is bilingual in Spanish and English and has a long-standing involvement in sport, having previously played cricket, volleyball and hockey at St Benedict’s School in Ealing, where he also captained the second hockey team. He later played for Gymkhana Hockey Club and continues to enjoy five-a-side football and social hockey.
Mr Barreto focuses on working collaboratively with each patient to understand their goals, addressing musculoskeletal concerns through a structural and functional osteopathic approach. He develops tailored treatment plans aimed at reducing pain, restoring function and supporting the healing process.
