Dr Tareq Abdullah

Dr Tareq Abdullah is a dedicated Consultant Clinical Oncologist who specialises in the treatment of breast and lower gastrointestinal (GI) cancers. With a patient-centred approach, he is committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to individuals navigating a cancer diagnosis. His clinical practice focuses on the management of breast cancer as well as colorectal malignancies, including colon, rectal, anal, and small bowel cancers. Dr Abdullah works closely with multidisciplinary teams to design personalised treatment pathways tailored to the unique needs of each patient.

In his clinical practice, Dr Abdullah utilises advanced therapeutic techniques to treat cancer, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and chemoradiotherapy. He is actively involved in clinical trials and research aimed at improving patient outcomes and refining cancer therapies. His research interests include the use of circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) testing to guide and safely de-escalate adjuvant chemotherapy, as well as investigating standard versus reduced-dose chemoradiotherapy regimens. Dr Abdullah obtained his primary medical qualification, receiving a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). To further his expertise in the field of oncology, he completed rigorous postgraduate training and successfully became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP). Additionally, he is a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR), reflecting his specialised training and expertise in clinical oncology and radiotherapy.
