Dr Suhas Hydros

Dr Suhas Hydros is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with over 20 years of clinical experience across paediatrics and mental health. He began his medical career in India before moving to the UK, where he worked in specialist paediatric settings across London before specialising in psychiatry.

He completed his core and higher specialist training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry through the renowned Maudsley Hospital, gaining experience across a wide range of specialist services. His training included the national and specialist OCD and body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) team, the Maudsley Centre for Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders, the Service for Complex Autism and Associated Neurodevelopmental Disorders (SCAAND), the Lishman neuropsychiatry unit, and Acorn Lodge inpatient unit for younger children.

He also gained experience in liaison psychiatry at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, before becoming a Consultant Psychiatrist within the Children’s Psychological Medicine team at Evelina London Children's Hospital.

Dr Hydros has extensive experience managing a broad range of child and adolescent mental health conditions, including mood and anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, early psychosis, eating disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, OCD, BDD, tics, and Tourette’s syndrome. He has a particular interest in neurodevelopmental conditions and continues to undertake specialist autism and ADHD assessments.

His work at Evelina London involved close collaboration with paediatricians and neurologists, supporting young people with complex interactions between physical and mental health. His experience includes psychiatric presentations associated with conditions such as functional neurological disorders (FND), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), autoimmune encephalitis, multiple sclerosis, juvenile Parkinson’s disease, chronic catatonia, and sickle cell disease.
