Dr Steve Siovas

Professional career

Dr Steve Siovas limits his practice to prosthodontics at Vermilion’s clinics in Edinburgh and Kelso.

The first two years of Dr Siovas’ career were spent as a Dentist in the Hellenic Army. Following his departure, Dr Siovas opened his own private practice in Thessaloniki, Greece, before joining as a Junior Partner of a multi-disciplinary private dental clinic. Here he committed himself to restoring his patients’ smiles as Practice limited to Prosthodontics.

In 2003, Dr Siovas was appointed as a Clinical Trainer in the Department of Prosthodontics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and taught young undergraduate students the laboratory and clinical procedures in prosthodontics. Dr Siovas arrived in the Highlands of Scotland in 2012 and very quickly cemented his reputation as a highly capable Prosthodontist with a detailed ability for implant retained solutions. He joined Vermilion in February 2015 and balances his time between Vermilion’s two clinics.

Academic career

Dr Siovas was awarded a Diploma in Dental Surgery from Greece’s Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1996. He later enrolled on to a three-year postgraduate programme in Prosthodontics at the same University, which he completed in 2001.

In 2009, Dr Siovas obtained a diploma in Implantology from the German Association of Implantology, inspired by his interest in implants and their impact on the patient’s quality of life. Dr Siovas graduated in 2011 with a PhD after completing a thesis in Prosthodontics and in 2018 he achieved the prestigious EAO certification - a qualification that recognises excellence in oral implant-based therapy across Europe and beyond.
