Dr Stephen Kriese

Dr Stephen Kriese is a Consultant Gastroenterologist who specialises in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of digestive and liver conditions. Dedicated to delivering patient-centred, reassuring, and high-quality clinical care, Dr Kriese works closely with patients to evaluate and treat both acute and chronic gastrointestinal health issues. His clinical approach focuses on thorough diagnostic investigation and evidence-based care, ensuring every patient receives an individualised management strategy tailored to their specific healthcare needs.

Within the field of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Dr Kriese possesses broad clinical expertise across digestive disorders. His primary areas of interest include inflammatory bowel disease, autoimmune liver disorders, liver cirrhosis, and gastrointestinal cancers. In addition, Dr Kriese maintains a specialised clinical and research focus on supportive and palliative care for patients living with advanced liver conditions. He performs diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopies, alongside managing emergency gastrointestinal bleeding.

Dr Kriese completed his medical education at University College London, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Immunology in 1999 and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2002. He completed postgraduate training in general internal medicine, obtaining Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2005. He subsequently completed higher specialist training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, alongside clinical research fellowships focusing on autoimmune liver conditions and advanced liver care. He is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians.
