Dr Stephen Farrell

Dr Stephen Farrell is a dedicated Consultant Paediatric Surgeon who provides comprehensive surgical care for infants, children, and young people. Specialising in Paediatric Surgery, Dr Farrell combines expert technical skill with a compassionate approach tailored specifically to the unique physical and emotional needs of younger patients. He works closely with families to ensure clear communication and to deliver reassuring, high-quality care at every stage of surgical treatment.

Dr Farrell earned his doctorate at Queen's University Belfast in 2005, before obtaining his specialist fellowship in Paediatric Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2008. He subsequently completed advanced international sub-specialty fellowship training in paediatric transplantation. In recognition of his commitment to healthcare innovation and strategic leadership, Dr Farrell was also awarded a GenerationQ Fellowship.

In addition to his surgical practice, Dr Farrell has held key leadership positions, including serving as Clinical Director for surgical paediatric services. He is deeply committed to quality improvement and enhancing the hospital experience for children.
