Dr. Stefania Bruno

Dr. Stefania Bruno is a Consultant Neuropsychiatrist based at Re:Cognition Health. She specialises in cognitive disorders, acquired brain injuries, and movement disorders such as Parkinson's Disease, Huntington's Disease, and Tourette's Syndrome. Additionally, she is the Lead Clinician and Medical Director of an NHSE-funded tertiary care neuro-rehabilitation service for patients with acquired brain injuries including trauma, encephalitis, stroke, hypoxic brain injury, multiple sclerosis. She is also a member of the Pan London specialist rehabilitation collaborative.

She has contributed to research in her field and focused particularly on the use of advanced neuroimaging techniques to investigate cognitive deficits in mood disorders and the early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. She currently has visiting appointment at King's College London's Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience.

She has co-authored two book chapters in neuroimaging books and a chapter in the Oxford Textbook of Neuropsychiatry. She also has more than forty peer-reviewed papers to her name.

Dr. Bruno earned a first-class medical degree with honours in 1995, with her thesis on cognitive functions of the cerebellum. She completed her post-graduate studies at the University College London (UCL) and the Maudsley Hospital. She spent nearly a decade at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Queen Square, where she gained extensive expertise in the diagnosis and care of the majority of neuropsychiatric disorder. She has previously worked as a consultant at the Burden Centre in Bristol, where she gained extensive sleep disorder and epilepsy experience.

She holds a PhD in advanced neuroimaging from the Institute of Neurology at UCL.
