Mr Stefan Niculescu

Mr Stefan Niculescu is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery. He practises privately at Spire Methley Park Hospital and also holds an NHS appointment as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust. He provides the full spectrum of treatment for hip and knee conditions, from joint preservation and non-surgical management through to primary and revision joint replacement surgery.

Mr Niculescu has particular expertise in robotic-assisted hip and knee replacement, minimally invasive muscle-sparing hip replacement, computer-navigated knee replacement and complex joint reconstruction. He also performs knee arthroscopy, cartilage and meniscal surgery, joint injections, treatment for sports injuries, iliotibial band release and the management of arthritis and other causes of joint pain. His specialist interests include complex hip and knee deformities, revision surgery and personalised treatment planning using advanced computer-assisted surgical techniques.

After completing specialist orthopaedic training in Europe, Mr Niculescu continued his career in the UK in 2013. He undertook advanced fellowship training in complex hip and knee surgery at internationally recognised centres in Oxford, Hamburg and Plymouth, developing expertise in complex primary and revision joint replacement as well as computer-navigated surgery. He combines both surgical and non-surgical treatment options, tailoring management to each patient's individual needs with the aim of restoring mobility and function.

Mr Niculescu is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and is a member of the General Medical Council, the British Medical Association and the Medical Protection Society.
