Dr Sophie West

Dr Sophie West is a Consultant Radiologist who provides comprehensive diagnostic imaging and image-guided procedures to support accurate clinical diagnoses and tailored treatment planning. Working closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, Dr West focuses on delivering precise radiological evaluations while ensuring that patients feel informed, comfortable, and well supported throughout their diagnostic journey.

Her primary clinical focus lies in Musculoskeletal Radiology, with particular expertise in spine imaging, sports injuries, and joint disorders. She regularly interprets diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT) scans, X-rays, and ultrasound examinations. Additionally, Dr West performs precise image-guided therapeutic procedures, including targeted joint, cyst, and bursa injections and aspirations, utilising advanced imaging technologies to maximise diagnostic clarity and therapeutic relief. Her wider clinical practice encompasses general diagnostic radiology, complex trauma imaging, and oncological imaging.

Dr West completed her undergraduate medical education, earning her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) alongside a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree. She subsequently undertook postgraduate study to attain a Master of Science (MSc) in Sports and Exercise Medicine. Her higher specialist training in surgical, orthopaedic, and radiological medicine was completed across major trauma and oncological centres. Dr West is a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR).
