Dr Sophie Harris

Dr Sophie Harris is an accomplished Consultant Diabetes Physician specialising in Endocrinology & Diabetes as well as General Internal Medicine. Driven by a commitment to compassionate, patient-centred care, Dr Harris works collaboratively with individuals to help them manage complex metabolic conditions. Her clinical focus centres on providing clear, reassuring guidance and actionable support, enabling patients to navigate long-term endocrine health challenges with confidence.

Her clinical practice encompasses a broad spectrum of sub-specialities, with particular expertise in Type 1 diabetes, diabetes technology including continuous glucose monitoring and insulin pump therapy, and antenatal diabetes care during pregnancy. Dr Harris also holds specialist experience in supporting patients managing both Type 1 diabetes and eating disorders. Dedicated to improving patient outcomes, she actively advocates for structured self-management education, digital health tools, and strategies designed to reduce healthcare inequalities across diabetes care.

Dr Harris completed her undergraduate medical training, obtaining a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBCh) degree and qualifying in 2005. She subsequently earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) following extensive research into the barriers surrounding structured diabetes education. A recognised leader in her field, she is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) and maintains active involvement with professional bodies, including the Young Diabetes and Endocrinology Forum.
