Dr Smriti Agarwal

Dr Smriti Agarwal is a highly regarded Consultant Neurologist who specialises in stroke medicine and the management of complex blood vessel disorders in the brain. With a clinical focus on improving patient outcomes following acute neurological events, she provides expert care for individuals experiencing strokes and related cerebrovascular conditions. Her clinical practice also encompasses running specialised tertiary services for patients undergoing cardiac interventions for stroke prevention, as well as managing cases involving inherited aortopathies with brain blood vessel involvement.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Agarwal is deeply committed to advancing the field of neurology through cutting-edge research. Her academic interests focus on the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to brain scans and electronic health records. By leveraging these innovative technologies, she aims to improve the accuracy of treatment response predictions and prognostication for stroke patients. Her research also explores stroke imaging, including perfusion CT and functional MRI, to study the physiological determinants of tissue outcomes and language networks in healthy ageing.

Dr Agarwal completed her comprehensive neurology training across several prestigious clinical institutions.
