Dr Simon Rushbrook

Dr Simon Rushbrook is an accomplished Consultant Gastroenterologist and Consultant Hepatologist who specialises in the diagnosis and management of complex liver and biliary tract disorders. Dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care, Dr Rushbrook provides comprehensive assessments and tailored treatment plans for individuals facing digestive and hepatic conditions. His clinical practice focuses on advancing patient outcomes through thorough clinical evaluation and evidence-based medicine.

Dr Rushbrook possesses extensive expertise in managing both acute and chronic liver disease, as well as providing post-operative care for liver transplantation patients. He has a specialist clinical interest in autoimmune liver diseases, including Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, Primary Biliary Cholangitis, Autoimmune Hepatitis, and IgG4-related disease. Additionally, Dr Rushbrook is highly skilled in performing advanced endoscopic procedures, including Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), SpyGlass cholangioscopy, and radial and linear Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), alongside endoscopic management for portal hypertension.

Dr Rushbrook graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1997 from the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy's and St Thomas's. He subsequently completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in viral immunology, focusing on cellular immune responses in chronic viral hepatitis. A Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP), Dr Rushbrook maintains active involvement in clinical research, genomic studies, and professional medical organisations, including the British Society of Gastroenterology and the British Association for the Study of the Liver.
