Dr Simon Chambers

Dr Simon Chambers is a highly skilled Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in foot and ankle surgery, trauma surgery, and complex limb reconstruction. With a patient-centred approach, he is dedicated to restoring mobility and improving the quality of life for individuals experiencing debilitating bone, joint, and soft tissue conditions. His clinical practice encompasses a wide range of advanced procedures, from corrective foot and ankle surgeries to managing acute trauma and performing intricate limb reconstructions using ring fixators.

Dr Chambers completed his medical degree at medical school in Newcastle, qualifying in 2004. Following his graduation, he undertook comprehensive basic and higher surgical training in the Northeast of England. To further refine his expertise, he completed several prestigious international fellowships. He was selected as an AO International Trauma Fellow in Marseille, France, and subsequently completed a dedicated Foot and Ankle Fellowship in Glasgow. He also spent a year in Melbourne, Australia, gaining advanced experience in complex trauma and limb reconstruction.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Chambers is actively involved in medical research and education. He has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and research projects, particularly focusing on ankle replacements and reconstructive techniques. His academic contributions were recognised in 2015 when he won the prize for Best International Paper at the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society for his research on ankle replacements. He holds professional memberships including Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Trauma and Orthopaedics.
