Dr Sian Pugh

Dr Sian Pugh is an accomplished Medical Oncologist specialising in the comprehensive management of gastrointestinal cancers, with a particular clinical focus on colorectal cancer and advanced metastatic disease. Combining rigorous clinical expertise with an empathetic, patient-centred approach, Dr Pugh works collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to design tailored care plans that optimise therapeutic outcomes and support patient well-being throughout every stage of treatment.

Dr Pugh earned her Bachelor of Medicine with Honours (BM Hons) and Bachelor of Science (BSc) from the University of Southampton. Demonstrating a strong foundation in clinical practice and research, she attained Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) during her surgical training before transitioning her clinical focus to Medical Oncology. She subsequently completed a doctoral PhD in cancer sciences, where her research investigated the biological determinants of colorectal cancer progression and patient responses to targeted therapeutics.

In her clinical practice, Dr Pugh provides expert care across a broad spectrum of oncological treatments, including systemic chemotherapy, targeted biological therapies, and precision medicine approaches. She possesses specialised expertise in managing colorectal liver metastases and utilises advanced diagnostic strategies, such as circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) monitoring, to evaluate disease progression and guide personalised treatment decisions.
