Dr Sian Alexander

Dr Sian Alexander is a highly regarded Consultant Neurologist who provides comprehensive care for patients experiencing a wide range of neurological conditions. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, she is dedicated to diagnosing and managing both acute and chronic disorders of the nervous system. Her clinical practice encompasses general neurology, where she supports patients through detailed assessments, symptom management, and tailored treatment plans.

In addition to her general neurology practice, Dr Alexander has developed significant expertise in cognitive disorders and neurodegenerative conditions. She has a particular clinical interest in Huntington's disease and Motor Neuron Disease, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic support to patients and their families. Her clinical focus also extends to other complex cognitive and neuroimmunological conditions, including limbic encephalitis, Morvan's syndrome, and acquired neuromyotonia.

Dr Alexander completed her medical training at the University of Oxford, where she earned her primary medical qualifications (BM BCh) and subsequently completed a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) in 2007, focusing on neurosciences. She is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and has actively contributed to clinical research and academic fellowships, including work on cognitive impairment and neurodegenerative diseases. She gained full medical registration in 2010.
