Dr Sheila Fraser

Dr Sheila Fraser is an accomplished Consultant General Surgeon who specialises in endocrine surgery. She provides comprehensive diagnostic assessment and surgical management for patients presenting with conditions affecting the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands. Known for her reassuring and empathetic clinical approach, Dr Fraser prioritises open communication and clear patient guidance, ensuring every individual receives a tailored treatment plan designed to achieve optimal outcomes.

In her daily clinical practice, Dr Fraser performs a wide variety of specialist procedures using both traditional open techniques and minimally invasive approaches. Her areas of expertise encompass thyroid cancer surgery, including central and lateral lymph node dissections, as well as the management of benign thyroid disease such as multinodular goitres, Graves' disease, and thyroid cysts. She is highly experienced in parathyroid procedures for primary and renal hyperparathyroidism, as well as complex adrenal surgery for functional conditions such as Cushing's syndrome, Conn's syndrome, and phaeochromocytomas. Furthermore, Dr Fraser serves as a Clinical Lead for endocrine multidisciplinary care teams and maintains clinical interest in genetic endocrine disorders and paediatric endocrine surgery.

Dr Fraser earned her primary medical degree, a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), before completing postgraduate research leading to a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. She achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in General Surgery and subsequently undertook sub-specialist fellowship training in advanced endocrine surgery.
