Dr Shakya Bhattacharjee

Dr Shakya Bhattacharjee is a highly accomplished Consultant Neurologist who provides expert care for patients experiencing a wide range of neurological conditions. With a dedicated focus on movement disorders and autonomic neurology, he is committed to delivering comprehensive, patient-centred care. His clinical practice encompasses the diagnosis and management of complex conditions, helping patients navigate their treatment journeys with clarity and reassurance.

His areas of clinical interest are extensive, with a particular focus on Parkinson's disease, atypical parkinsonism, and hereditary ataxia. Dr Bhattacharjee is highly skilled in advanced therapeutic interventions, including deep brain stimulation and the management of autonomic symptoms associated with Parkinson's disease. Additionally, he provides specialised care for patients suffering from headaches, drug-induced dyskinesia, spastic paraparesis, and various forms of dystonia, such as blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm, cervical dystonia, and jaw dystonia.

Dr Bhattacharjee obtained his primary medical qualification, an MBBS, in 2006, followed by an MD. He completed his specialist neurology training in the United Kingdom, earning his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Neurology. To further refine his expertise, he undertook a post-CCT fellowship in movement disorders and a fellowship in autonomic neurology at prestigious national institutions. He holds membership in the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP UK), which he obtained in 2015, followed by a specialty certificate in neurology (MRCP Neurology) in 2017, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP UK).
