Dr Shailesh Shah

Dr Shailesh Shah is an accomplished Consultant Physician specialising in General (Internal) Medicine, Acute Medicine, and Intensive Care Medicine. He provides comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic care for adult patients presenting with a wide range of acute and complex medical conditions. Dedicated to delivering patient-centred, reassuring care, Dr Shah works closely alongside multidisciplinary clinical teams to ensure rapid assessment, accurate diagnosis, and individualised treatment strategies for every patient.

In his daily clinical practice, Dr Shah has a particular focus on advanced bedside diagnostics, notably point-of-care ultrasound. He is highly skilled in performing focused acute medical ultrasound and focused ultrasound for intensive care, utilising non-invasive sonography to evaluate acute thoracic, abdominal, and vascular conditions. His clinical expertise spans the rapid stabilisation of acutely unwell patients, the management of acute organ dysfunction, and the comprehensive care of multi-system medical illnesses.

Dr Shah qualified in medicine with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) alongside a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree. He holds Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom with sub-specialty designation in Acute Medicine, as well as a Fellowship of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine. Beyond his direct patient care, Dr Shah is actively involved in postgraduate medical education and clinical mentorship, leading accredited ultrasound training courses and supporting clinical staff in developing essential diagnostic skills.
