Mr Senthil Kumar

Mr Senthil Kumar is an Associate Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon with experience in the assessment and surgical management of knee and shoulder conditions. He treats NHS e-Referral patients at Sulis Hospital and continues a trauma practice at the Royal United Hospital.

Mr Kumar qualified in medicine from the University of Madras in 1991. He moved to the UK in 1995 and was awarded the FRCS qualification in 1999. In 2000, he joined the orthopaedic department in Bath, where he completed further specialist training at the Royal United Hospital. During this period, he developed focused expertise in knee and shoulder surgery, working within established orthopaedic teams and gaining experience across elective and trauma practice.

His elective practice includes knee arthroscopy, primary and complex knee replacement surgery, and arthroscopic shoulder procedures. He has a particular clinical interest in shoulder stabilisation surgery and the management of rotator cuff pathology. In addition to elective work, Mr Kumar maintains an active trauma practice, with specific involvement in the surgical treatment of complex shoulder fractures.

Mr Kumar’s clinical work encompasses both diagnostic assessment and operative management, with procedures including knee replacement surgery, shoulder arthroscopy, rotator cuff repair and shoulder replacement surgery, delivered across NHS and independent hospital settings.
