Mr Sarfraz Ahmad

Mr Sarfraz Ahmad is a an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon at the prestigious Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry. He also has practicing privileges at Shrewsbury, Chester and Hereford Nuffield Hospitals.

Mr Ahmad is dedicated to improving each patient’s quality of life through expert diagnosis, compassionate care, and evidence-based treatment. He provides specialist care for the full spectrum of spinal conditions — from neck/arm pain and cervical disc disorders to lower-back pain, sciatica, spinal stenosis, fractures, scoliosis, and coccyx pain.

He completed Higher Surgical and Specialist Training in spinal surgery and trauma & orthopaedics on The Oswestry and Stoke Orthopaedic Training Rotation. His training earned him Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), Specialist Registration with the General Medical Council and Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Mr Ahmad has published multiple scientific papers and contributed to orthopaedic textbooks.

Mr Ahmad was born in Scotland and raised in Edinburgh. He studied medicine at the University of Aberdeen, where he received a Phase 1 Distinction and The Russell Medal in Pathology. He is married to Zeba, a GP, and they have two sons, Ismaeel and Yunus. Outside of surgery, he enjoys time with family, sport, exercise, and travel.

Mr Ahmad is a specialist highly skilled in both operative and non-operative management of spinal conditions, tailoring treatment plans to each patient’s needs. His expertise covers spinal disorders from the cervical spine (neck) to the coccyx, with specialist interests in adult degenerative disease and spinal deformity.

Patient-centred care is central to his practice. Mr Ahmad takes time to listen, understand symptoms fully, and guide patients through appropriate treatment choices to ensure the best clinical outcomes.
