Mr Samir Pathak

Mr Samir Pathak is an accomplished Consultant Pancreatic and General Surgeon who delivers comprehensive surgical care for a broad range of abdominal conditions. Known for his compassionate and patient-centred approach, Mr Pathak ensures that patients are thoroughly informed regarding their treatment options, empowering them to make well-considered decisions tailored to their individual needs.

His clinical practice encompasses general surgical procedures with a specialised focus on conditions affecting the pancreas and gallbladder. Mr Pathak performs both open operations and minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery for complex pancreatico-biliary conditions, including pancreatitis and gallstone disease. Additionally, he possesses extensive expertise in abdominal wall hernia surgery, performing repair procedures for groin, inguinal, femoral, umbilical, epigastric, incisional, and recurrent hernias.

Mr Pathak graduated from Liverpool Medical School in 2006, receiving a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery with Honours alongside a Bachelor of Science degree. He completed his post-graduate surgical training across Liverpool, Leeds, and the South West of England, and was subsequently awarded a Doctorate of Medicine degree. A Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Mr Pathak has held academic appointments as a Clinical Lecturer and actively leads clinical trials in pancreatic disease. He serves as a Council Member and Chair of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee for the Association of Upper GI Surgery of the UK and Ireland, and serves on the Great Britain and Ireland HPB Association committee as Training Lead.
