About Mr Sam Alsammoua
Samawal Alsammoua is a highly experienced Consultant Gynaecologist with over 20 years of clinical practice in obstetrics and gynaecology. He qualified in 1998 and has worked extensively across the UK, as well as internationally.
He completed his specialist training within the Glasgow University Hospitals, gaining broad expertise in general obstetrics and gynaecology, urogynaecology, and advanced gynaecological and laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery. He also developed significant experience in the management of gynaecological cancers.
Mr Alsammoua currently practices at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, working at Worthing and Southlands Hospitals. He serves as the Lead Clinician for Gynaecological Cancers at Worthing Hospital, where he runs fast-track, one-stop clinics and chairs multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings to ensure coordinated and timely patient care.
In addition to his clinical role, he is Chair of the Sussex Gynaecological Tumour Group and leads on gynaecology risk management within the Trust, reflecting his commitment to patient safety and service improvement.
His clinical practice covers the full spectrum of gynaecology, with particular expertise in complex laparoscopic surgery, colposcopy, and the screening, diagnosis and treatment of gynaecological cancers. He is especially focused on delivering efficient, patient-centred care through streamlined diagnostic pathways.
Mr Alsammoua is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, and the British Gynaecological Cancer Society.

A very well presented doctor and good to have a hand shake on arrival. I was given clear advice on treatment I needed but unfortunately I just couldn’t afford it. So it’s back to the drawing board and go down the NHS route. Such a shame as the treatment for private would have been perfect with no pain. Never mind, but I do recommend this doctor.
I had my initial consultation with Samawal Alsammoua a few days ago and I cannot praise him enough. He was exceptionally empathetic, understanding, reassuring, took the time to answer all my questions and explained the way forward with clarity. With my hysterectomy scheduled within the next couple of weeks, I feel completely confident and reassured to be under his care. I would also like to give a huge shout out to his PA, Tina, for her prompt responses, kindness and empathy. Her support too has been greatly appreciated. I feel genuinely cared for.
