Dr Saif Ahmad

Dr Saif Ahmad is a highly accomplished Consultant Clinical Oncologist who specialises in the treatment of breast cancer and the management of acute oncology. With a strong focus on delivering personalised, patient-centred care, Dr Ahmad is dedicated to improving clinical outcomes and enhancing the quality of life for individuals undergoing cancer therapies. His clinical practice is characterised by a compassionate approach, ensuring that patients and their families are fully supported throughout their treatment journeys.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Ahmad is a prominent researcher and innovator in the field of oncology. His research interests lie in understanding the DNA-damage response and genomic instability, particularly how these mechanisms can be targeted to improve the effectiveness of radiotherapy. He has co-authored numerous high-impact scientific publications and collaborated with international regulatory bodies on novel drug-radiotherapy combinations. As a passionate advocate for patient safety, he has also co-founded a medical technology initiative aimed at developing point-of-care diagnostic tools to monitor and protect chemotherapy patients from serious side effects, such as neutropenic sepsis.

Dr Ahmad began his medical career by completing his core surgical training in Nottingham, which was followed by a specialised placement in palliative care. Recognising his passion for oncology, he undertook academic specialty training in cancer care and went on to complete a Clinical PhD Fellowship at a leading research institution in 2017.
