Dr Sagar Tiwatane

Dr Sagar Tiwatane is a highly experienced Consultant Anaesthetist dedicated to delivering safe, patient-centred anaesthetic care across a broad range of surgical specialties. He is committed to providing exceptional perioperative care, ensuring every patient feels informed, reassured, and comfortable throughout their surgical journey.

Dr Tiwatane graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in India in 2005. He subsequently moved to the UK, where he completed comprehensive postgraduate training in anaesthesia across London, the Nottingham and Leicester Deaneries. This broad training provided extensive experience in managing patients with a wide variety of surgical and medical conditions and culminated in his entry onto the UK Specialist Register for Anaesthetics in 2020.

He has a particular specialist interest in ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia, an advanced technique that enables precise pain management, enhances patient comfort, reduces the need for opioid medications where appropriate, and supports faster recovery after surgery. Regional anaesthesia forms a key part of his practice and reflects his commitment to evidence-based, enhanced recovery pathways.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr Tiwatane has a strong interest in perioperative medicine, patient safety, quality improvement, and service development. He is actively involved in improving perioperative pathways and theatre efficiency while maintaining a strong focus on delivering high-quality, compassionate patient care.
