Dr. Saad Al-Ismail

Dr Saad Al-Ismail is the Senior Consultant Haematologist in Swansea. He retired from NHS commitments but continued active with clinical commitments in the private sector in Sancta Maria Hospital – Swansea. Dr Al-Ismail areas of expertise include general haematology, Bleeding and clotting disorders and blood cancers.

Prior to retirement, Dr Saad Al-Ismail developed comprehensive clinical and laboratory blood services in Swansea. These included the management of all haematological cancers, haemophilia and bleeding disorders, anticoagulant services as well as bone marrow transplantation. He
held the position of the lead researcher and principle investigator in many
national and international clinical trials. More recently, Al-Ismail is pursuing research activity in assessment of quality of life in patients with blood disorders.

Prior to retirement and in addition to his post as Consultant Haematologist, Dr Saad

  cancer Network(2000-2011)
