Dr. Ruby Haji

Dr Ruby Haji is a Consultant Haematologist specialising in general haematology, thrombosis and haemostasis. She has expertise in treating complex blood clotting problems and experience managing complex immune blood disorders. Her clinical practice is exclusively dedicated to adult patients aged 18 and over.

Dr Haji is experienced in diagnosing and treating a wide range of haematological disorders, including blood cancers such as leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma, as well as thrombosis, bleeding disorders, abnormal blood counts and myeloproliferative disorders. Her experience also includes immune thrombocytopenia, autoimmune haemolytic anaemia, iron deficiency, vitamin B12 deficiency and haemoglobinopathies, including sickle cell disease and thalassaemia. She also provides advice on blood transfusion and the management of haematological problems prior to surgery.

Her clinical interests include anticoagulation, transfusion, pre-operative optimisation, obstetric haematology and haematological disorders in patients requiring HRT who have a risk of blood clots or other haematological conditions. Dr Haji also performs bone marrow aspirate and trephine biopsies, lumbar punctures and venesections.

Dr Haji completed her medical degree at Imperial College London in 2005, alongside a First Class Honours BSc degree in Haematology. She received training in a wide range of general medical specialties before completing specialist haematology training. She achieved her FRCPath qualification in 2017 and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists England and a Member of the Royal College of Physicians England. She is also a member of the British Medical Association and Medical Defence Union.
