Dr Roshni Vara

Dr Roshni Vara is an accomplished Consultant Metabolic Paediatrician who specialises in diagnosing and managing complex inherited metabolic disorders in children. Dedicated to offering high-quality, compassionate care, she works closely with young patients and their families to navigate complex medical conditions with clarity and reassurance. Her comprehensive clinical approach ensures that children receive tailored management plans designed to optimise health outcomes and enhance their quality of life.

Her clinical practice encompasses a wide range of inherited metabolic conditions and metabolic liver diseases. Dr Vara has extensive expertise in managing disorders such as phenylketonuria, tyrosinaemia, galactosaemia, glycogen storage disorders, urea cycle disorders, mitochondrial diseases, organic acid disorders, and lysosomal storage diseases. She is actively involved in administering specialised dietary interventions, conducting newborn and biochemical metabolic screening, and co-managing paediatric patients who require liver transplantation for metabolic diseases.

Dr Vara completed her medical education at King's College London, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1998. She went on to gain Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) in 2002 and was awarded a Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical Paediatrics in 2006. Following advanced specialist training in paediatric hepatology and inherited metabolic diseases, she was appointed as a Consultant. She maintains active professional memberships with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and the General Medical Council.
