Dr Roger McCorry

Dr Roger McCorry is a dedicated Consultant Gastroenterologist and Consultant Hepatologist who provides comprehensive clinical care for patients with complex digestive and liver disorders. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary specialist team, Dr McCorry offers expert assessment, precise diagnosis, and individualised treatment strategies. His practice combines general gastroenterology with advanced hepatology, ensuring that patients receive compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to their specific medical needs.

Dr McCorry possesses extensive expertise across a wide range of hepatic and gastrointestinal conditions. His clinical interests include chronic liver failure, viral hepatitis, alcohol-related liver disease, metabolic associated steatotic liver disease, and inherited liver conditions. Additionally, he manages complex autoimmune liver diseases such as primary biliary cholangitis, primary sclerosing cholangitis, and autoimmune hepatitis. Dr McCorry is experienced in conducting non-invasive fibrosis assessments, liver biopsies, and day-case procedures, as well as coordinating primary liver cancer screening and therapeutic management. He also contributes to joint transition services, helping young patients seamlessly move from paediatric care to adult specialised health services.

Dr McCorry completed his primary medical degree, Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, and Bachelor of the Art of Obstetrics (MB BCh BAO), at Queen's University Belfast. He subsequently undertook specialised higher training in Gastroenterology, complemented by dedicated sub-specialty fellowship training in hepatology and liver transplantation at prominent medical centres across the United Kingdom. Alongside his clinical practice, Dr McCorry actively engages in clinical research and clinical trial recruitment to support innovation in liver care, holding recognition from national clinical research networks for his contributions to the field.
