Dr. Rodney De Palma

Dr Rodney De Palma is a consultant cardiologist at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. He sees private patients at The Shelburne Hospital and One Heart Clinic Harley Street.

He specialises in:

• Interventional cardiology
• Structural/heart failure

His areas of interest are coronary disease, hypertension, valvular heart disease, and PFO-related stroke.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. De Palma is also an associate editor for the BMJ Open Heart Journal and an editor of the PCR-EAPCI textbook which covers all aspects of percutaneous cardiovascular interventional practice.

Dr De Palma gained his MB BS from the University of London in 1995 after first completing a BSc in neuroscience and basic medical science. He gained the university gold medal during his medical degree and went on to study health economics, management, and cardiovascular outcomes at the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2017.

He has also undertaken an imaging and structural heart disease fellowship at Lausanne University Hospital in Switzerland, before becoming a specialist registrar at the London Chest Hospital. In addition, he has undertaken a structural intervention fellowship at Karolinska University Hospital in Sweden.

Dr De Palma previously worked as a consultant cardiologist at the University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
