Dr Robert Dawe

Dr Robert Dawe is a Consultant Dermatologist dedicated to providing expert, patient-centred care for a wide range of skin conditions. With an established focus on physical therapies and light-based treatments, Dr Dawe offers individualised management strategies for patients suffering from chronic and severe dermatological disorders. His clinical approach emphasises thorough investigation, clear communication, and tailored treatment plans designed to restore skin health and enhance patient well-being.

In his clinical practice, Dr Dawe possesses deep expertise in photodermatology, porphyria management, and specialised light therapies. As a Lead Clinician in phototherapy services, he specialises in delivering advanced treatment modalities, including photodynamic therapy (PDT), narrowband ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) phototherapy, and grenz ray therapy. His areas of clinical interest extend to the diagnosis and management of cutaneous porphyria, severe psoriasis, hyperkeratotic eczema, palmoplantar pustulosis, and nail dystrophies. Through these non-drug physical therapies, Dr Dawe provides targeted care for complex inflammatory dermatoses.

Dr Dawe completed his primary medical training, earning a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) in 1989. He subsequently undertook higher academic research, obtaining a Doctor of Medicine (MD) postgraduate degree in 2001 focusing on phototherapy in dermatological care. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (FRCPE) and holds Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP UK). In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he serves as an Honorary Reader in Dermatology, contributing to ongoing clinical research and medical education.
