Dr Reena Agarwal

Dr Reena Agarwal is a highly accomplished Consultant Plastic, Burns and Hand Surgeon who provides expert care for both adult and paediatric patients. She specialises in a wide range of reconstructive and plastic surgery procedures, with a particular focus on hand injuries, burns, scar management, and traumatic soft tissue injuries. Known for her reassuring and patient-centred approach, Dr Agarwal is dedicated to delivering high-quality clinical outcomes and helping patients navigate their reconstructive journeys.

Dr Agarwal completed her undergraduate medical education, earning her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). She went on to complete her basic surgical training before being appointed to the prestigious Trent Deanery Higher Surgical Training scheme in Plastic Surgery, where she attained her Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic Surgery (FRCS Plast). To further refine her expertise, she completed a specialist fellowship in sarcoma at BG UK Bergmannsheil, Ruhr University in Bochum, Germany, as well as a microsurgical fellowship at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford. She also holds a Master of Science in Surgical Sciences and a certificate in Management from the Open University Business School.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Agarwal is a prominent figure in surgical education, research, and national leadership. She serves as the Regional Training Programme Director for Plastic Surgery in the East Midlands and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer. Her leadership roles include serving as the Honorary Secretary for the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) and acting as an Advisory Appointments Committee Assessor for the Royal College of Surgeons of England. She has published extensively on topics such as scar management, burns, and hand surgery, and she is the founder of a regional microsurgery training centre.
