Dr Rashad Salman

Dr Rashad Salman is a Consultant Respiratory Physician based in Leeds with over 15 years of experience in respiratory medicine. He has been working within the specialty since 2015 and was appointed as a respiratory consultant at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in 2020. Dr Salman played a key role in establishing the long COVID rehabilitation service in Leeds, which was recognised with the British Medical Team of the Year award in 2022 for innovative medicine.

His clinical expertise covers a wide range of respiratory conditions, with special interests in difficult asthma, biologic therapy, sleep medicine, airway diseases, long COVID rehabilitation, chronic cough, COPD, pulmonary embolism, interstitial lung disease (pulmonary fibrosis), and breathing pattern disorders. In addition to treating general respiratory conditions, he offers advanced diagnostic procedures, including bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound.

Dr Salman is actively involved in clinical research and the delivery of clinical trials, helping patients gain access to novel therapies. He has authored and co-authored multiple publications in the fields of airway diseases, long COVID, and other respiratory conditions, contributing to the advancement of respiratory medicine.

He holds an MBChB and has trained in the UK since 2010. He achieved membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and serves as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds. Dr Salman also sees private patients at Spire Leeds Hospital.
